Carmarthen Veterinary Centre is an award winning, purpose built, state of the art practice providing care for all animals, large and small. The centre houses companion animal, farm, exotic inc camelid and equine facilities, with dedicated vets in each field. We are an RCVS accredited practice standards scheme hospital facility with 24-hour onsite and out of hours care provided by our own vets and nurses, ensuring continuity of care with a team you can trust.
Laura joined the team in August 2017 to oversee the ‘new dawn’ at Carmarthen Veterinary Centre. She has set up, run and subsequently sold a multi-million pound turnover business in her previous career and assisted many SME’s over the last seven years to reach their potential working as a business adviser. Laura is passionate about excellent customer service for a fair price and fears she may soon have more pets than people in her home after falling in love with the animals that come into our practice on a daily basis.
Sue started in Merlin Vet Group as a receptionist in 2000 before moving to the new centre with us in 2008. She is our head receptionist and works across the small animal and large animal desks. In her spare time she enjoys getting lots of fresh air exploring our amazing coastline from the Mumbles to Dinas Island, and she also loves escaping on a plane to the Canaries and other Spanish destinations. When not exploring she also enjoys losing herself in a good book, the cinema, live music and winding down with a good glass of wine.
Erica joined Carmarthen Veterinary Centre in October 2015. When not at work Erica enjoys life on her smallholding with her husband, two dogs, three cats, sheep, chickens, ducks and a poly-tunnel to be busy in when it rains! If not at home Erica will probably be found visiting her family or walking the coast path, hills and beaches with her dogs Jess and Jenny. At work Erica enjoys being part of the team and meeting new and regular pets and their owners as well as helping farm clients with routine and emergency requests.
Christine joined us in January 2017 as a part-time receptionist and is very much enjoying the role which is ‘anything but mundane and no two days are the same.’ Christine enjoys having a chat with the owners when it is quiet and sneaking in the odd puppy cuddle. When at home Christine is kept busy home schooling her daughter and in her spare time she enjoys looking after the dogs, cats and horses that her family own.
Christine joined our reception team in June 2015 after working for 36 years in the civil service as an admin officer. Christine lives in St Clears with her husband and has one daughter. She enjoys travelling and has recently returned from New Zealand. In her spare time she enjoys long walks with her Labradoodle, Luna, and baking cakes. Christine loves meeting the variety of pets and wishes she could take them all home.
Diane has been working for us since 1990, when she started as a receptionist at Ark Vets. Many people may recognise her voice as she regularly takes the phones out of hours. Diane enjoys seeing old clients, as well as getting know new ones. She loves meeting all the pets and says she even enjoys working with all of us! When she finally gets home, Diane is no less busy, enjoying reading, watching rugby, and baking cupcakes… when she’s not chauffeuring her children!
Anna loves meeting the animals and their owners here at Carmarthen Veterinary Centre and has a particular soft spot for the rescues. When she's not on reception she'll be upstairs working in our accounts office. Anna graduated in graphic design and in her free time loves making use of these skills. She is currently experimenting with digital portraiture. Anna loves cooking and spicy food but hasn't mastered making a curry as good as the local take away yet!
Mandy originally started work in Ark Vets in 2001, after completing a BTEC in small animal care at Pibwrlwyd College in 1999. She has been with us ever since, becoming a much valued member of the reception team, particularly on the large animal desk. Outside of work, Mandy enjoys swimming and looking after her daughter and son.
Emma started at Carmarthen Veterinary Centre in October 2017 as an administrator after several years working in the third and public sectors. She has a background in veterinary nursing, equine and administration. Emma lives locally with her husband, three children and many pets including “too many horses” (according to her husband) and a hand reared duck called Wil.
